Thankful

We had a great visit with our son yesterday! He looks healthy, and yes- we did see that sparkle back in his eyes!

He's working his program, following the rules, and will be given more freedom/privileges, now that his 30 days are up. I have to admit that upon hearing this, I had anxiety. It's much more comforting knowing that he's supervised 24/7. However, I realize that can't last forever and this is his journey. He has earned this upcoming freedom and I will continue to pray that he makes good decisions, like he has done for the past 30 days.

I could worry about the future, but I won't. I will be thankful and happy that for today he is sober and today I feel peace.

Praise God as we continue on our journeys...

  1. Each new step and new freedom is going to be a little scary. You are doing exactly what you should be doing and all that you can. You are praying and staying in the day by being thankful for each moment. I am glad that your visit went well for you and I am so happy to hear that he is doing well. Good for him!

  2. These people are so precious and the nightmare they live is so real. My heart goes out to you. I will pray for your son. If 90% of the people in rehab continue to drink or do drugs, may ours be in the 10%. That's a request to God. Please. Amen.

  4. Aren't those sparkles wonderful!? I am enjoying some from my boy too. I am so glad you had a good visit. The anxiety in more freedom is understandable, but glad you have chose not to worry (one moment at a time...)

  6. He will live and make decisions concerning this issue-every day for the rest of his life.

I am starting a NEW Mr. Linky party. It will begin on Aug 10th so everyone will have a week and a half to think about their first post. I have a poll up for votes on which button should be the new button. The "party" is called The Knock Off Knock Out-where THRIFTY meets creative sensation. Go over and learn more about the new weekly event and I would appreciate if you would cast your vote and HELP pick the new button design and its the last week for the July GIVE-A-Way, if you would like to be a part of that event..
