Glorious Day!

Just spent the last 4 hours with my son, on his birthday! It was a most glorious day, in so many ways and I'm feeling very thankful to God for making this day so special!

  1. I read both posts at the same time and decided to comment on this one. I'm so glad he showed up and you had a good day. Good days are very special. I can feel your smile in your words.

  2. Isn't it amazing with all they put us through, how much we crave a "good day" with our children (the addicted ones). That's all we've ever asked for as moms and dads, to be able to love our kids without addiction getting in the way. I'm so glad you had a good day with him. I could feel it as I read your post. Take care, you.

  4. So glad you had a good visit with your son on his birthday.

I read Libby Cataldi's book a while ago and it helps me in dealing with my addicted son. Conversations not lectures, encouragement not put-downs and allowing him to run his own life (VERY difficult for this control-freak mom!)while still holding my boundaries. Where ever his addiction leads him I'm not ready to cut the ties yet. For today he's in a methadone clinic and says it's helping, so thank you God for today.
